Bears by the River

Once upon a story, there was a bear called Boris.

Boris lived in Siberia.  Boris was a East Siberian bear.  He would wander round the forests, looking for salmon in the rivers to live on.

Boris was having a good day, he had found a lot of salmon, in the corner of the riverbed, and was full of food, when he was sitting down to rest, and fall asleep.

Boris heard another bear nearby, and he growled softly, to say hello.

The other bear with black fur was called Rachel.

Rachel was worried

Boris asked Rachel, “Why are you so worried, Rachel?”

“Well”, said Rachel, I thought about it, and the other river up the hill does not seem to have as much fish in as usual.  I thought what would happen, if the fish ran out.”

Rachel said to Boris, there’s no need to worry, the river comes from the mountain and always has lots of fish.

Made me think for a minute though.

Let’s be thankful Boris, for the fish we have.

What happens?

This story is an activity story, where Hope Tenars can complete the story.

What would the bears do, if that river ran out of fish?

Would they go up to a river higher up in the mountains? Would they find another river?  Would they find different food than fish?

Add your own questions, and finish the story.
